01
A photograph is a starting point, not a final measurement
Send a clear storefront image and any reliable dimensions you already have. Identify the premises and the emirate, and explain whether the sign is new or replacing an existing installation. Final manufacturing dimensions and fixing details need confirmation for the actual site.
02
Ask for a specification you can compare
“Illuminated sign” can describe different constructions and lighting arrangements. A useful quote names the proposed material, finish, face construction, illumination and mounting approach. It should explain any assumptions about the existing structure or electrical provision.
- Overall dimensions and artwork version.
- Material and finish description.
- Lighting and access for future servicing.
- Removal of existing signage, if required.
03
Keep preparation, fees and site work separate
Ask whether design, approval preparation, authority fees, production, delivery and installation are included. The relevant approval process depends on the premises and the competent authority. Confirm requirements before committing to production; a quotation is not an approval.
04
Compare the handover as well as the price
Two prices can differ because access equipment, removal work or servicing access has been excluded. Ask who checks the completed installation and what care information is supplied. Do not assume a warranty period or lifespan that the supplier has not stated in writing.
